Larson Electronics Releases 50' Explosion Proof SOOW Extension Cord, 20A Continuous Service
KEMP, Texas, September 29, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an explosion-proof SOOW extension cord that gives operators the ability to safely extend the range of their explosion proof light or equipment cords beyond hazardous work area boundaries. This unit is made of 50 feet of 12/3 SOOW explosion proof cord rated at 20 amps of continuous service. This cord is chemical and abrasion-resistant.
The EPEXC-50-3X20A-12.3 explosion proof SOOW extension cord features three 20-amp power receptacles made of non-sparking aluminum and powder coated for durability with a housing made of triple-coated malleable iron. The internal receptacle plug contacts are made of brass with the plug deeply recessed to prevent accidental contacts. This unit features a neoprene seal for protection against the ingress of water and a spring-loaded receptacle door for automatic weathertight seal when the plug is removed.
Larson Electronics’ explosion proof SOOW cord is rated for use in Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D; and Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F and G hazardous locations. The plugs on this unit are designed in a twist lock design and the plugs on this cord will also work with non-explosion proof standard receptacles. The plugs and receptacle are cross-interchangeable with Crouse Hind™ part number ENPENP5201 plugs and receptacles and Hubble-Killiark part number UGP-20231 ACCEPTOR® plugs and receptacles.
