Larson Electronics Releases 400W Explosion-Proof Photocell, ATEX/IECEx, Day/Night Sensor, Dusk-to-Dawn Operation
KEMP, Texas, November 2, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an explosion-proof photocell that functions as a day/night sensor for HID, fluorescent and incandescent bulbs in hazardous locations. This photocell is rated at 400 watts and automates dusk-to-dawn lighting controls. This unit can be operated on 100-130V AC/DC or 208-277V AC/DC.
The ATEX-EXP-DNS-400W explosion-proof photocell is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C and D; Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIB+H2 and IIA; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F and G; and Class III hazardous locations. This ATEX/IECEx-rated photocell activates luminaries at three foot-candles while deactivating at eight foot-candles. This unit features an electrical range of 35 watts to 400 watts and is compatible with HID, fluorescent and incandescent lights. This device comes with 6” stranded 600V color-coded wire leads and can be mounted with two 3/4" feed-thru hubs.
Larson Electronics’ explosion-proof photocell comes with a 10-second time delay feature to prevent accidental tripping and can be used to conserve energy by only activating lights when necessary. This unit features an operating lifespan of eight years and is made of durable copper-free aluminum that is powder-coated for added protection. Suitable applications include HID, incandescent and fluorescent lighting systems in hazardous locations.
