Laasya Art Gallery announces new features, including a contemporary art blog, on their recently re-designed website.

Contemporary Indian Artist Sujata Achrekar with Sonia

Laasya Art, a leading gallery for contemporary and traditional Indian art for sale in Palo Alto, California, is proud to announce the launch of their blog. Envisioned as a platform to educate art collectors and promote Indian art in the San Francisco Bay Area, the blog will not only provide behind-the-scenes glimpses at the gallery’s artists and their unique creative processes but also share art buying tips and insights on the trends in contemporary Indian art overall. The first five posts can be read online at https://laasyaart.com/blog/.

The founder and curator of Laasya Art, Sonia Nayyar Patwardhan, looks forward to sharing her unique insights on the gallery’s artists and her thoughts on contemporary Indian art at large. “I work closely with my artists and have known most of them for many years, as I collected their works before becoming a gallerist,” she says. “Through the blog, I aim to share the journey of each artist, their vision and the story behind their works and, thus, bring them alive to clients. I believe the blog will be very useful to new collectors.”

One of the first blog posts ‘Is There a Right Way to Buy Art?’ can be visited here https://laasyaart.com/blog/is-there-a-right-way-to-buy-art/, for example. Sonia shares her advice on how to buy Indian art from her perspective as a collector, advisor and overall Indian art expert. Another blog, ‘How to Commission Paintings’ at https://laasyaart.com/blog/to-commission-or-not-to-commission/, includes images of past commissions organized through Laasya Art, including custom paintings by Anuradha Thakur, Basuki Das Gupta, Sujata Achrekar, Ramesh Gorjala, Somnath Bothe, Jagannath Paul and Sachin Jaltare.

Laasya Art will continue to regularly publish new posts on the blog, as part of its recently revamped website design. Each new post will be shared via the gallery’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, with the hashtag #LaasyaIndianArtBlog, so collectors are encouraged to follow @laasyaindianart for further updates.
