LA Tequila Fest Fundraiser Returns for Third Year

Drinking for a Good Cause: The Andrés y María Cárdenas Family Foundation Presents LA Tequila Fest

The Andrés y María Cárdenas Family Foundation is proud to announce its third annual LA Tequila Fest. The Festival will take place on September 25, 2021, at Los Angeles State Historic Park. LA Tequila Fest is the main fundraising event for the Andrés y María Cárdenas Family Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit scholarship foundation. For over 23 years, the AMCFF has been providing scholarships to students who personify the values of hard work, perseverance and a commitment to community. Each year AMCFF gives between 30 and 40 scholarships, which has equated to over $1.3 million and over 800 scholars in efforts to create generational change amongst the most underserved communities.

Tequila enthusiasts will have the opportunity to come together and enjoy over 40 tequila brands that include:

Mandala - Award-winning small-batch premium tequila

With offerings like extra Añejo, Mandala presents elegance with a great body with seven years of aging in French oak barrels.

Cazadores - High-quality 100% agave tequila

In 1922 the perfect recipe for a bold highland tequila was created by Don Jose Maria Bañuelos. The recipe was developed in Arandas, a community in the Los Altos region of Jalisco where Tequila Cazadores is still made.

Fortaleza - Copper pot distilled, alongside the use of the traditional tahona milling method

Making tequila in the same way it was made over 100 years ago, with a small brick oven to cook the agave, a tahona to squeeze the juices out of the agave, wood tanks for fermentation, and the two original copper pots for distillation.

Don Fulano - Utilizes hand-selected estate-grown highland agaves, which provides exquisite beauty and elegance.

Don Fulano employs a truly unique dual distillation process that allows them to consistently create exceptional tequila.

The LA Tequila Fest will also include live performances by Jena Red and Stephanie Loayza, LA's top female DJs. Jena Red was the first female DJ to ever make it to the finale of the McDonalds and Complex Magazine Flavor Battles in 2013. Stephanie Loayza has been the headlining DJ for the hottest upscale venues and has worked with brands such as Porsche, Bloomingdale's, and Macy's.

"This event is really about a community coming together. Yes, everyone will be enjoying great food, tequila and friends, but at the end of the day, that very fun afternoon in the sun will benefit so many families in our community. These families are able to see their sons and daughters begin a life-changing journey in higher education supported by the Andrés y María Cárdenas Family Foundation. We're so excited for this, because we know it will truly impact our students and our community," said Brian De La Rosa, AMCFF Board President.
