Kyong Wilson, President of IndustrialSafety.com Is Appointed District Governor for District 7890, Northern CT and Western Mass

Kyong Wilson's impressive career, combined with her vast philanthropic leadership experience, has aptly prepared her for a high profile, community position, such as the Rotary District Governor.

Kyong Wilson, president of IndustrialSafety.com, has been recently been appointed District Governor for the 2015-2016 District 7890 Rotary Club, CT. Kyong Wilson's impressive background in leadership roles, both professionally and within her community, made her an ideal candidate for the high profile position. Since the 1980's Kyong has exclusively held vice-president or present positions within her companies. Outside of her office, she has volunteered her time, holding leadership and management roles at many non-profit and charitable organizations throughout Connecticut. Her philanthropic commitments extend to such organizations as Bread for Life, the AMBER Alert, and the Berlin Food Bank. Professionally, she has been a member of the Greater Meriden Chamber of Commerce and has served as the Business Government Development Committee and an ambassador.

Kyong has spent almost two decades as the vice-president for multiple banks. Her expertise spans over many departments including, operations, underwriting, compliance, business and consumer lending, security, marketing and new business development. Her numerous activities may seem dizzying, but even with her various professional and philanthropic commitments, Kyong always makes room in her schedule to attend to her children's scholastic and extracurricular activities. She has been the Treasurer of the Terry Nursery School, President of the Terryville High School Band Parents Group and PTO chairwoman at the Prospect Street School.

The District 7890 Rotary covers Northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. As District Governor, Kyong will be responsible for 60Rotary Clubs and approximately 2,300 members. The area includes Hartford, the capital of Connecticut, and Springfield, the third largest city in Massachusetts. Included within its boundaries are Pratt and Whitney Jet Engines, Travelers and Aetna Insurance and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Companies. Kyong's long history as a proven financial leader solidified her candidacy to govern such a vast and financially robust area. Her impressive career, proven leadership experience and seemly unending energy for her chosen causes, all stand as a testament to Kyong's ability to thrive in this demanding role.

The Rotary Foundation is run entirely by volunteers. As District Governor, Kyong will spearhead collection campaigns, encouraging member to donate both time and money to help the club maintain fiscal solvency. She will be responsible for leading and motivating large groups of volunteers and carrying out many service projects and Rotary Club programs. The community depends on the Rotary Club to provide a safe environment for after school activities and community outreach programs. Kyong will be accountable for the Rotary's budget, annual reporting and fund allegations. Her 20 years in banking aptly qualifies her carry out these responsibilities. Kyong's new position will make her an automatic figurehead within the community. Some people might find this calling intimidating. But given Kyong's impressive background, she will no doubt flourish, maximizing her position and providing leadership to The Rotary Club and local community members alike.
