The contract provides comprehensive strategic coordination support services, including working in partnership with the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC), the Research and Innovative Technology Administration, Bureau of Transportation Statistics (RITA/BTS), which is the lead agency for Geospatial Information and Services within the USDOT.
The program is managed by USDOT Geospatial Information Officer (GIO), who will lead a Steering Committee including representatives from other federal agencies, NSGIC, state DOTs, and other stakeholders to include private sector, federal agencies, and state, regional, and local governments.
KTS, as a Geospatial/GIS solutions provider, helps enable the USDOT's overall objective to development a transportation theme and model for all of its stakeholders. KTS will coordinate with stakeholders the deciding attributes and data levels of detail required that will be used for roads, and subsequently other transportation modes, such as rails and transit.
