Known Spiritual Jewelry Artist Collaborates with His Brother to Create Two Mystical Rings

David has been a jewelry designer whose various jewelry designs and artwork are marked with deep spiritual symbolism and with his passion for people and nature.

David Weitzman of Ka Gold Jewelry, together with his brother, Jonathan, has just released to the market two rings, the products of their collaborative work.

David has been a jewelry designer whose various jewelry designs and artwork are marked with deep spiritual symbolism and with his passion for people and nature. Their spiritual meanings are universal, transcending all forms of cultural, political and religious boundaries.

Jonathan, also an artist craftsman, brings to his work the fitting combination of his academic training in philosophy and art. Putting their respective expertise and personal passions together, the brothers have produced the "I" wisdom ring, and the "Philosopher's Ring".

The Rings

The "I" wisdom ring, according to David is based on the Book of Tao by the great Chinese philosopher Lao Tse. The ring's design symbolizes the two balancing laws of the universe, Taoism's the Yin and the Yang. Engraved in the ring is the motif of two fish representing the Ying and the Yang and the placid flow of the way of life of Taoism. A sentence from the Book of Tao surrounds the ring: "Knowing others is intelligence, knowing yourself is true wisdom."

The "Philosopher's Ring" symbolizes self-belief, courage and bravery. It was inspired by the signet ring of Baruch Spinoza, the 17th century Dutch philosopher. Spinoza's ring reflected his own belief in himself and the steadfast courage with which he defiantly spurned the prevailing belief of the Jewish and Christian communities in Amsterdam and espoused his own philosophy of Pantheism. This philosophy basically argues that there is no external God; God is the harmony of nature and all creation. The "Philosopher's Ring" is a physical symbolism of Spinoza's kind of courage, his self-belief and his willingness to go against prevailing beliefs and practices even at the risk of social rejection and isolation.

A Convergence of Brothers' Personal and Artistic Passion

The "I"wisdom ring and the "Philosopher's Ring" are the convergence of the core passion for life of their two creators, brothers David and Jonathan. As such, they are not meant to be just decorative nor to be mere part of a collection of jewelry. They are a statement of deep-seated spirituality and belief both for their creators and their prospective owners who will make efforts to know their story.
