Kenora District Services Board Joins The Social Services Customer Family At Altus Dynamics

Altus Dynamics announced today that Kenora District Services Board is to implement their Financial Management and Portals' social services software suite, to provide improved services to the communities they serve in north western Ontario.

The Kenora District Services Board (KDSB) is one of ten unique, northern Ontario quasi-municipal entities created to deliver social services in the District of Kenora, covering a jurisdiction of approximately 400,000 sq.km. KDSB and its partners strive to support the district's individuals, families and communities helping them reach their full potential through the provision of people services, enabling healthier lives and contributing to caring communities. In order to deliver on that mission they began searching for an updated ERP system and an experienced solutions partner to implement it, eventually selecting Altus Dynamics.

"Kenora were already familiar with the products available in the Microsoft Business Solutions family, having used Microsoft Dynamics SL, the entry level platform, for quite a number of years." comments Altus Dynamics Founding Partner, Nicola Dickinson. "However as often happens, as they expanded they out-grew SL and needed to look to the future, to a cutting edge ERP solution more suitable to their size and needs. SL's install base* is also static at 13,500 while NAV's continues to increase and now has the largest install base by far, at 102,000 organizations" adds Dickinson. During the selection process Kenora DSB looked at a number of solutions including Blackbaud Financial Edge. They wisely chose Microsoft Dynamics NAV for a number of reasons including flexibility, native integration to other Microsoft software and the 'transition credit' offered by Microsoft, allowing them to offset the cost of SL against their new solution.

"After investigating multiple solutions, we were impressed with the flexibility and knowledge of the Altus team. Altus Dynamics ERP met all our critical component requirements while providing the opportunity for future growth." says Corrine Owen, Director of Finance & Asset Management at Kenora District Services Board "Their knowledge of our industry and willingness to find solutions to our unique reporting needs made them the best choice for now and the future." The single solution, Altus Dynamics ERP, will provide greater efficiencies, access to data for better decision making and increase employee productivity. It will include Altus Employee Portals (AEP) to handle a range of tasks that non-core users can carry out such as budget checking or invoice approvals. "Kenora were aware of our solution, having talked to our customer the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board. They therefore had the confidence that we have a product tailored to the needs of the social services board sector and that we had successfully worked with organizations similar to theirs." adds Dickinson.

Once live, Kenora DSB will have 4 full Dynamics NAV users, and the capacity to have 100 employees accessing the financial system, based on their job role and security, via AEP's. They will join other Altus Dynamics customers including The Robin Hood Association, Accredited Supported Living Services, EnVision Community Living, Community Living South Muskoka and Delta Community Living as users of the Altus Dynamics ERP solution for social services.
