Kendall Toyota and the Miami-Dade Community Show Appreciation for Excellence in Education
Miami, Florida, April 10, 2018 (Newswire.com) - The 2019 Francisco R. Walker Miami-Dade County Teacher of the Year is Molly Winters Diallo of Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School. The winner of the prestigious Teacher of the Year, named after a young teacher in Florida who lost his life in the line of duty on school property, is rewarded every year with a new Toyota vehicle donated by Kendall Toyota, long partners of United Teachers of Dade. Miami-Dade in fact is the only county in the state of Florida where the teachers receive a car.
The teacher of the year award is the most significant award in the Miami-Dade community for educators, representing not only excellence in the classroom but also having a profound impact in the community. “It is always difficult to select one teacher for this honor when there are so many teachers who work so hard for our students, “said UTD President Karla Hernandez-Mats. "Mrs. Winters Diallo clearly stands out because of her unwavering dedication to her students."
As partners for over a decade, Kendall Toyota and the United Teachers of Dade continue to stand together to confront problems facing educators and find positive solutions for all of its members. "We are proud to show our support and say thank-you to the educators who give so much to the community," said Ryan Hall, General Manager at Kendall Toyota. Molly Diallo received the keys to a new 2018 Toyota Corolla at the United Teachers of Dade Annual Picnic. "I am so happy to have this new car and feel so grateful that they would give such a generous gift to Teacher of the Year." said Diallo.
As an active member of the Miami-Dade County community since they opened in 1973, Kendall Toyota has been involved in a variety of local organizations in addition to United Teachers of Dade, such as the American Cancer Society and Baptist Hospital of South Florida. By delivering on every customer's expectations, one customer at a time, they strive to become the leading automotive group within their industry, serving their customers, associates, and communities alike.
