Kamloops BC Finds A Fresh Fitness Approach

Yoga Fitness Boot Camp Brings Kamloops Women Together For Body And Self Transformation

Kamloops, BC April 6, 2010 - The fitness focused city of Kamloops, BC is finding a new twist on doing exercise with a program that uses intensive exercise and the serene health benenfits of yoga.

Beginning May 3rd, yoga teacher Katrina Ariel can be found training women of all shapes and abilities in what has been defined as an empowering approach to maximum fitness.

This different boot camp program expands the choices women have in Kamloops to get enthusiastic and in great shape for the hot summer months of shorts and bathing suits, and promises an approach that brings balance to the high challenge that most boot camps utilize to obtain results with the health benefits of yoga.

Trainer Katrina Ariel says she was inspired by the swift improvements and energy increase she received from partaking in a boot camp while working in New Orleans, and decided to produce her own variation of the well-liked boot camp program. "I think everyone enjoys working out a lot more when it's fun and feels good, and I find the sequence of building strength through fitness exercises and then immediately doing a yoga practice brings out the benefits of both that much more, Katrina said.

The camp is run out of Let's Move Studio, which is up near Thompson Rivers University, and commands a gorgous view of the valley of Kamloops. It's a good thing too, because the camp meets in the early morning hour of 5:30-6:30, so the view will give participants something special to anticipate.

"It's early," Katrina agrees, "but what makes it so great is that by the time you're done at 6:30 you get this amazing sense of accomplishment knowing you've already gotten in an outstanding workout, and lots of people haven't even rolled out of bed." She also points out that working out first thing in the morning is the most effective way to improve your metabolism.

The boot camp includes a dynamic variety of exercises that combine a wide range of fitness exercises and yoga poses. Participating women will spend part of each morning's boot camp outside in the refreshing morning air, and conclude with the yoga portion in the convenience and calming environment of the studio. Showers are going to be available for participants to clean the sweat off after the challenging class, imparting a new definition to the concept of having a fresh, clean start to the day.
