Junior League of Boca Raton "Tip Their Hats" to the 24th Annual Woman Volunteer of the Year Nominees

Junior League of Boca Raton will hold its 2011 Woman Volunteer of the Year (WVOY) luncheon, Friday October 6th 2011 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club.

Junior League of Boca Raton will hold its 2011 Woman Volunteer of the Year (WVOY) luncheon, Friday October 6th 2011 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. In its 24th year, the annual Woman Volunteer of the Year Luncheon will celebrate local women in the community and their pledge to outstanding volunteerism. This year attendees are being asked to wear hats to support the nominees and celebrate the Junior League of Boca Raton's 40 years of service. In 2010, The Woman Volunteer of the Year Luncheon raised over $162,000 to support the Junior League of Boca Raton's Mission to improve the community.

The prestigious WVOY luncheon will recognize 22 nominees from various non-profit organizations throughout Palm Beach County for their dedication and expertise as volunteers. This year's nominees are Karen Lynne Asher, American Cancer Society; Marti White, American Red Cross Palm Beaches-Treasure Coast Region; Tina Snider, Best Foot Forward Foundation; Anne Henderson, Boca Ballet Theatre; Roberta Valmond, Boca Helping Hands; Lu Lu Thomas, Boca Raton Historical Society; June Gelb, Boca Raton Museum of Art; Sandy Sokolof, Boca Raton Police Services Department; Dr. Marla W. Dudak, Caridad Center; Holli Rockwell, Caring Hearts Auxiliary ; Diana Rivellino, Debbie-Rand Memorial Service League; Linda L. These women are nominated for making significant and noteworthy contributions to the lives of children, families, individuals and seniors within our community. Over the past 23 years, the Junior League of Boca Raton has helped recognize more 470 women volunteers in the community through this event.
