It is National Scoliosis Awareness Month. In honor of this, Colorado scoliosis clinic Spine Correction Center of the Rockies is giving free scoliosis screenings for the month of June.
Typical scoliosis treatments involve painful and expensive surgeries and braces. Spine Correction Center is one of less than 10 clinics in the country offering a revolutionary alternative from the CLEAR Institute that is non-surgical and non-bracing.

Dr. Michael Farrell and Dr. April Cardwell, lead practitioners at the clinic, say that the free screenings are extremely important because people can discover an entirely different route to effective scoliosis treatment that saves time and pain.

Scoliosis is a condition that occurs in about 4.5 percent of the population (about 5 people out of 100) and occurs more often in women than men. Scoliosis occurs when the spine of the back forms a C or an S shaped curve. A few symptoms of scoliosis are back pain, leg pain, hip pain, and altered walking gait. The condition is often first diagnosed between the ages of 9 and 15. About 9 out of 10 cases of scoliosis are idiopathic, meaning the precise cause is not known.
