June Hunt Has Agreed to Provide Audio Content for Streaming Faith Initiative for the Federal BOP
Weston, Massachusetts, August 15, 2014 (Newswire.com) - A new alliance between Hope For The Heart ministry and Liberty Quest Foundation has been reached according to Director, P.J. McMann. Hope For The Heart is a worldwide ministry with a two-fold mission: Providing Bible-based counsel to renew minds, heal hearts, and bring hope to the hurting, while empowering Christians to disciple others.
Hope For The Heart Founder, June Hunt, is one of the world’s leading biblical counselors. An author, singer and speaker, she founded Hope for the Heart in 1986. Her life’s work has yielded landmark contributions in the field of Christian counseling. The ministry offers biblical hope and practical help through biblical counsel, coaching, and context for contemporary concerns in more than 60 countries on 6 continents.
"June Hunt's words will inspire those incarcerated in the federal prison system to a higher level, make them better people and give them hope, which is something those incarcerated are in desperate need of. It's a great thing what she is doing."

June is also a popular guest professor at colleges and seminaries—and a sought-after speaker at conferences and religious and broadcasting events. She teaches and speaks nationally and internationally on topics such as crisis counseling, child abuse, wife abuse, forgiveness, singleness and self-worth.
With her ministry broadcast on over 300 Christian radio stations, it would be an ideal program to be allowed to be heard by prisoners in the Federal prison system. Currently prisoners have access to purchase MP3 players and can purchase downloads at above market prices. However, there is no religious programming, paid or otherwise, of any faith or any religious music of any kind that is available for download through the BOP’s closed music distribution system. The Streaming Faith Initiative is a grass roots movement to appeal to the federal Bureau of Prisons to allow inmates the access to religious broadcasts, podcasts and music at no charge.
Liberty Quest Foundation is engaged in a number of initiatives to improve the conditions, operations and impact of prisons in the United States. The Foundation is based on traditional values yet keeps in step with new technology. Members of various faith traditions are going paperless, turning to hand-held devices, in addition to traditional bound scripture and prayer books to find spiritual sustenance. Because of the prison environment, many inmates must practice their religion on an individual basis. In addition, many also have some level of learning disability which hinders their ability and motivation to read. With this scenario, an opportunity exists to expand the reach of the gospel through the use of the BOP’s current music delivery infrastructure with free content provided by numerous reputable and well-followed religious streaming providers.
Director McMann said, “There is a reason June Hunt is so in demand to speak, she’s great. Yet she still wants to reach those in the most difficult of circumstances and places. We are so happy that she has agreed to provide Hope For The Heart audio content to the inmates. Her words will inspire those incarcerated in the federal system to a higher level, providing hope and inspiration through the Word of God.”
