Julien's Sports Memorabilia Auction Online Now

For immediate release: Julien's Auctions Gives Sports Enthusiasts The Opportunity To Bid On Rare Sports Memorabilia Exclusively Online SPORTS LEGENDS 2014 ONLINE AUCTION EVENT

Julien's Auctions, the world's premier sports and entertainment auction house, announces Sports Legends 2014, an unprecedented collection of sports memorabilia offered in an Internet exclusive auction ending at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Monday June 9, 2014.

Bidding is now taking place online.

Highlights from the Muhammad Ali Fight Memorabilia Collection feature items from virtually every stage of Ali's career including rare programs and tickets from the 1959 Golden Gloves and 1960 Olympic Boxing Trials, items from the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics where Ali (then named Cassius Clay) won the gold medal in the Light Heavyweight Division, and on-site programs, tickets and pennants from many of Ali's earliest and also most obscure fights.

Julien's is also honored to be offering Carmelo Anthony's 2004 Olympic Bronze Medal. Frustrated with the third place finish for his U.S.A. Basketball squad at the 2004 Olympics, Anthony eventually gave his bronze medal to a family member as he no longer cared to have it in his possession. This is one of the first modern era U.S.A. Basketball Olympic Medals to ever be offered at auction.

Julien's will have the rare opportunity to offer Don Newcombe's 1957 Brooklyn Dodgers game worn home flannel jersey in the auction. Newcombe was a groundbreaking player for the Dodgers, becoming the first African American to start a World Series game, and the first African American to win 20 games in one season. Newcombe was named the 1949 National League Rookie of the Year, and the 1955 National League MVP and Cy Young Award winner, becoming the very first winner of the Cy Young award. 1957 was the last season the Dodgers played in Brooklyn before moving to Los Angeles. With the scarcity of game worn Brooklyn Dodgers jerseys of any kind, along with the jersey being worn by Newcombe during the Dodgers' last season in Brooklyn, the Newcombe jersey is sure to generate a lot of interest from bidders.

Also included in the Sports Legends 2014 auction will be an incredible array of game worn baseball jerseys and jackets including Derek Jeter's 1998 World Series attributed New York Yankees jersey, Thurman Munson's circa 1970s New York Yankees jacket, Frank Sinatra and Sandy Koufax's personal team-issued Los Angeles Dodgers jackets, Barry Bonds' 1986 Pittsburgh Pirates rookie year game worn road jersey number "7", along with game worn items from Nolan Ryan, Rod Carew, Tony Gwynn, Eddie Murray, Albert Pujols and new Dodgers sensation Yasiel Puig.

For our basketball and football fans, Julien's will be offering incredible game worn items from Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Larry Bird, Shaquille O'Neal, John Stockton and Patrick Ewing, and game worn football jerseys from Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Marcus Allen and Tiki Barber.

This historic collection of items to be auctioned includes one of the world's largest and most comprehensive Muhammad Ali fight memorabilia collections, Carmelo Anthony's 2004 Olympic Bronze medal and amazing memorabilia from some of the world's most iconic athletes including Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, Jerry Rice, Wayne Gretzky, Pele, Andre Agassi and an incredible array of game worn Baseball, Basketball and Football jerseys.
