Ivory Sims's New Book 'Dryston It's Okay' is a Compelling Account That Talks About an Adorable Mother and Child Story

Ivory Sims is a twenty-nine-year-old single-mother who is passionate about meeting new people and cooking, and also loves children. She has completed her most recent book “Dryston It’s Okay”:  a gripping and potent storybook that explains the behavior of an autistic child.

Ivory writes, “This book is to give your insight. Put yourself in their shoes. For an autistic person, things can be difficult, so you have to show them in different ways to handle things and constantly reassure them that things will get better and nothing is impossible to accomplish. Crying at times may seem extreme when things don't happen as planned. Not being able to communicate your feelings can be stressful and we as parents must adjust. Routine is everything to an autistic child.

“As parents, you must be patient even when it feels like you're at your wit’s end. Simple tasks such as feeding themselves, potty training or tying their shoes may take more time and effort to learn but don't get discouraged because they can feel what you feel, believe it or not.

“I try as a parent to hide the negative feelings from him because I don’t want him to think that he isn’t enough, and if I can’t, I explain to him, ‘Mommy is just frustrated with herself for not figuring this out for you.’ So, in conclusion, autistic people are just like us. We have emotions and need love too, so spread the unconditional love, and we all will be okay. We both are growing together but in different ways! I’m an awesome mom, and I know it.”

Published by Fulton Books, Sims’s book is an engrossing tale of an autistic child that portrays a genuine love and tender care of a mother.

This book serves as an awareness to the readers that kids with autism are also adorable, they just need special attention and extra care from everyone.
