It's A Snip As Mayor of Hailsham Opens New Shop
Online, May 6, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Mayor of Hailsham, Cllr Dr Ian Haffenden, will officiate at the much-anticipated opening of new store located at 5 High Street (the site of the former Just Kidding childrenswear shop), and will join owners Joanna and James Brown and Sylvia and John Stanbridge for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11am.
Fish Around offers tropical and coldwater fish, fish tanks, aquarium supplies and all the accessories needed to keep fish. The shop also sells Fair Trade products and a variety of gifts for fish-keeping enthusiasts.
James Brown, co-owner of the new retail outlet, commented "We are a new family business and my wife and I are delighted that the Town Mayor will be officially opening the shop this weekend."
He added "Until now, people have been travelling out of Hailsham to shop for aquarium products and accessories and I'm sure people would agree that Hailsham's High Street has suffered through the recession with many empty shops. We hope the opening of our new shop will be one of many new shop openings for the town to help in its regeneration."
The Mayor of Hailsham, Cllr Dr Ian Haffenden said "The opening of Fish Around is a welcome boost for the town of Hailsham and very important for High Street retail, which is still experiencing hard times."
"It will be a pleasure to declare the new shop officially open and I wish the business every success in the future."
Fish Around will be open from Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, and Sundays 10am to 4pm. For more information, contact the shop on 01323 844400.
