ISO 14001 Certification Demonstrates SEO Company In Norwich's Environmental Credentials

ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental systems management.

ISO 14001 is a certification that organisations can gain when they have appointment an environmental manager and have put systems in place to reduce their impact on the environment. By becoming ISO 14001 certified an organisation is demonstrating that it has been independently assessed and deemed worthy of the ISO 14001 standard.

Fountain Partnership, an SEO agency in Norwich has recently become ISO 14001 certified. They are the first SEO company in the East of England to have achieved the certification. But one of their Directors says he believes this will not be the case for long.

Marcus Hemsley, Director and Environmental Manager at Fountain Partnership manager said "I feel it is important for all organisations, regardless of their sector, to look at reducing their environmental impact. Here in Norwich we are looking at severe droughts later on in the year - it's worrying to see the effects of climate change starting to occur. In addition to lowering our carbon emissions, ISO 14001 has helped us make savings and streamline processes. This has made us more productive".

He went on to say, "There's a myth among the business community that being more environmental is costly. By becoming ISO 14001 certified, we've actually found the opposite. I would encourage other business owners to look into the scheme".

The ISO 14001 certification has become popular in recent years. Part of the ISO 14000 family, the certification empowers organisations to set their own environmental targets within a given framework. The standard has long been popular in the secondary sector, however we are now beginning to see more companies in the service sector becoming ISO 14001 certified. ISO 14001 is said to complement ISO 9001 (the standard for process improvement) very well. Both ISO certifications are becoming something many established organisations strive to obtain. In these difficult economic times, many firms see it as a way to get ahead of their competition.
