Islander Resort Welcomes The Start Of Gold Coast Light Rail Operations
Online, August 1, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Gold Coast Light Rail system, or G:link, operates fourteen trams between 16 stations through the 13 kilometre route, with the end-to-end journey from the Gold Coast University Hospital to Broadbeach taking approximately 37 minutes.
“It's very exciting to have the 'G:' up and running along the Coast,” says Joanne Browne of Islander Resort Hotel. “It is a great thing for the Gold Coast with the locals embracing it instantly, but it's the tourists in particular, who are finding it so simple to get around, and with two stations within walking distance of the Islander, our guests couldn't be happier.”
The G:link is now running the 14 trams at a frequency of every 15 minutes from 5 to 7 am, 7:30 minutes from 7 am to 7 pm and 15 minutes from 7 pm to midnight on weekdays (no service midnight to 5 am). Trams arrive every 15 minutes 5 to 7 am, 10 minutes from 7 am to 7 pm, 15 minutes 7pm to midnight and 30 minutes midnight to 5 am on the weekends.
