After Nami Khademhosseini had to visit an ear doctor due to having discomfort in his ears and difficulty hearing he learned the dangers of using cotton swabs (Q-tips) for ear cleaning. According to health professionals, this old fashioned practice can be hazardous to your eardrum and can also impact the earwax deeper, thus clogging the ear canal. This can eventually affect hearing and be very uncomfortable.
Realizing that Q-tips are not meant for ear cleaning, Nami saw that the only reason people use them is because there are no swabs on the market that are specifically designed to actually clean out your ears. As an inventor, Nami saw an opportunity to invest his time and resources into designing a product that is specifically designed to clean the ears without having to worry about any pain or discomfort. According to their company website, the “Smart Swab is a patented technology that provide safety, comfort, effectiveness, cleanliness, and ease of use for personal ear cleaning.”
Nami Khademhosseini is confident that his Smart Swab can fill the gap in this market. The goal of introducing this product to market for the first time is to help people who suffer from problems caused by earwax buildup. Currently the Smart Swab is in the manufacturing process. The company Nami Design LLC is encouraging everyones opinions and public support through his crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.com launching this November.
