The SABEW Best in Business Awards recognize outstanding business stories published in 2015.

Alessandria Masi, Middle East Correspondent for International Business Times, won the International Explanatory category for her submission, “Lebanon’s Refugee Economy,” in which she reported on the human and political dimensions of the Syrian refugee crisis, while examining the financial impact of the influx at its center.

International Business Times Staff Writer Joel Warner won the Small Business category for his submission, “Marijuana Inc.” in which he explores the challenges and opportunities of the legal marijuana business for the entrepreneurs and workers who draw on it for their living, as well as growing concerns about the trade’s impacts on workplace safety and the environment.
