International Artist Completes Third Volume of Art Series
Online, October 12, 2011 (Newswire.com) - What started off two years ago has grown into a story telling volume of art. "Dreams, Nightmares, Fears and Fantasy", a photographic art collection by International Exhibiting Photographer Jason Dowd has just completed the third volume of his collection.
In 2009 a near death experience forever changed the life of Dowd. Shortly after that incident he produced the first picture of the collection "Death to Yesterday", a metaphor picture telling us not to live in the past. That photo landed the series at a Hong Kong Gallery, and soon made its television debut on FOX 13 Good Day Tampa Bay.
The series is a collection of pictures that portray everything your mind can dream. That can be something beautiful to something horrific. Each picture tells a story accomplished in one picture or a collection of them.
Volume 3, his latest volume, has an eclectic blend of portrayals. Since the collection was projected for completion in October, he threw a bunch of horror pieces in for Halloween.
The volume contains depictions of some of the greatest tales ever told including "Tinker Bell", "Alice in Wonderland", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Little Mermaid". There is a portrayal of Hollywood legend Bette Davis. You'll also see a rendition of 30s Gangsters, Zombies, Mummies, a real life "Romeo and Juliet" story right here in Florida, Carnival Workers gone bad, Queen Cleopatra, haunted dolls, urban legends and more...
"This series put me to the test. I physically drew digital additions for these pictures for the model to interact with, never doing that before. I had to find perfect models to play the parts and in most cases the casting was dead on. am so honored to have worked with such great models who helped me capture my vision. I couldn't do this without them" says Dowd.
To celebrate Dowd will release the third volume at Rudolph's Gallery. There will be free food, drinks, meet and greet with Dowd, models will be dressed up in costumes for their respective series, a live dance performance from model and dancer Faythe Monbleau, live music from Charlie Nicol, and the whole event will be broadcast on Party 955 via the internet for the country to tune into. Plus its Dowd's birthday party celebration.
