This year’s interior design trends prove that a life fit for a king and queen is possible for anyone, says Perla Lichi, principal owner of Perla Lichi Design.

Earlier this year, Hello! Magazine presented its take on interior design trends gracing royal homes across the globe. From the palace of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge to Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, the elegance transcends.

This year's interior design trends prove that a life fit for a king and queen is possible for anyone.

“Royal families have unique palettes that always align perfectly with changing industry trends. They make transitional selections when it comes to their interiors, especially when it comes to the selection of infusing their spaces with furniture and accessories.”

While traditional design strategies have reflected a modern, sleek feel, there is a growing trend of incorporating warmth into living spaces. In addition, many designers attest to the importance homeowners place on creating rooms that emit both style and comfort. This year, it’s all about texture, patterns, neutral tones, metallic colors and keeping everything “bright.”

“It’s no surprise that something as simple as a ‘cream sofa’ would be a luxurious piece in a royal home. Soft fabrics in beautiful neutral tones like nude and taupe have become popular selections for living rooms, bedrooms and home offices this year. Pair that with unique, customized wood pieces and you end up creating a trendy living space.”

Stepping away from palace grounds, Elle Magazine urges readers not to forget about accenting rooms with bold pieces. Social media monitoring of popular platform Pinterest uncovered shocking yet valuable insight into what designers are looking for in 2018. Based on total pins, statement rugs increased by 236 percent, cement tile by 262 percent and geometric tables by 536 percent.

“These numbers are shocking but are a representation of customer preference, which is important. Our staff at Perla Lichi have an in-depth understanding of how to effectively create spaces that balance individuality and trends. Whether you’re designing a royal palace or a penthouse suite, the beauty of interior design is that it’s for everyone.”
