Boulder, CO, February 24, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Inside Sales Bootcamp, Inc. is on a mission to increase diversity within tech by helping women and underrepresented minorities land entry-level sales jobs. Inside Sales Bootcamp currently has bootcamps in Boulder, Denver, Seattle and San Francisco.
Tech companies across the country have been under pressure to increase diversity in the past few years. According to Forbes, most companies are heavily comprised of “white, asian and male” workers. This has sparked a mass movement among the tech giants including Facebook, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Amazon to help diversify their workforce. Bay Area venture capitalist, Brendan Wales, shares that “Bay Area companies are making it a priority to increase diversity as they scale their teams. Inside Sales Bootcamp is a great resource and platform to help shrink this diversity gap, while also providing teams with highly trained and vetted candidates.”
According to Lori Richardson, President of Score More Sales and Women SalesPros, “I have been approached by numerous companies across the country to help find more women for their B2B sales teams.” Richardson consults with those companies, but the challenge remains that not enough women have a simple path to learning the skills necessary for a strong career in professional selling. “This is a clear issue in talent development. Tech companies need great sales people, and women are often some of the most successful, when you can find them for your team!”
While the problem is apparent, and companies are working to hire for diversity, they are struggling to hire for qualified entry-level sales positions in general. According to Matt McGraw, Founder and CEO of TheLions, a prominent recruiting firm based in San Francisco, “we have more positions to fill than qualified sales people for the 200+ tech companies we work with.” TheLions has partnered with Inside Sales Bootcamp to help fill this void in the market. “Inside Sales Bootcamp will provide a much-needed sales foundation for students right out of school and give them some experience before they interview with their first tech companies,” says Matt. “The bootcamps will also provide more qualified talent for our hiring partners.”
Inside Sales Bootcamp Co-Founders Mike Duchen and Ryan Reisert have spent their careers scaling sales teams and running operations for Silicon Valley and Boulder tech companies. “I actually went to college to be a Math teacher, and before I knew it, I ended up spending my career running sales organizations. Mike used sales as a platform to launch his career at startups but has always had a passion for teaching and mentorship. Inside Sales Bootcamp gives us the opportunity to combine our passions for teaching and giving back to others by sharing the skills we have developed over our careers in startups in San Francisco and Boulder,” says Ryan.
Inside Sales Bootcamp has assembled a network of 50+ mentors and 200+ hiring companies, and has dedicated a portion of its enrollment and scholarships for women and young professionals from underrepresented minority backgrounds.
