August 12th and 13th Sita Lange the creator of Maui Mermaids will be hosting the first Annual Mermaid Convention and Awards Ceremony at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Yes, I said Mermaids. These creatures of myths and legend will be brought to land for this two day extravaganza featuring Mermaid Hannah Fraser, in the largest Pool Event in history. Also featured are mermaids Marina "Medu Sirena", Traci Hines, Tasha Dabek as Mermaid Kiara and Sora. Guest of honor, Scarlett Harlot.
Among the usual fare of retailers to be found at this event and the not so usual finned guest attending and performing, you will find indie authors, K.L. Parry and Kohana Au.
Hoping to make a big splash in Las Vegas with her debut novel, The Pirate's Daughter And A King's Ransom, a YA fiction action adventure, K.L. Parry is also excited to be participating in this event with supporter and fellow writer, author, Kohana Au. His most recent title, Tales of the Mermaids of Waiahuakua - Those of the Sea, is a collection of Hawaiian legends involving the mermaid. His book includes beautifully rendered images of mermaids done by various artist.
For these two intrepid Authors, MERCON may be a risky jumping off point, but what fun can be had when you're sharing the experience with fellow fans of fiction, fantasy and whimsy and..., oh yeah, did I forget to mention mermaids.
