Indianapolis Senior Community to Provide Innovative Course Educating Area Seniors About the Science Behind Healthy Aging
The Aging Mastery Program® was developed to empower more holistic wellness through manageable improvements in the physical, social, financial and emotional dimensions for seniors, among others.
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla., March 2, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Upscale, independent senior living community Discovery Commons At College Park will host a ten-week health and wellness education course called the Aging Mastery Program®. Developed by the National Council on Aging (NCOA), the program is designed to empower seniors 55 and older to make and maintain small, yet meaningful life changes.
Classes will be held once a week beginning April 2 through June 4, 2020, and guest lecturers — a new one each week — will help participating seniors explore topics including longevity, physical activity, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, financial fitness, medication management, advanced planning, healthy relationships, falls prevention, and community engagement.
Basic educational materials developed from highly trusted sources, a checklist of potential next steps, and a system for tracking behaviors will be provided as takeaways from each class.
