Indianapolis Chiropractor Offering Therapeutic Exercise Classes

Online, February 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Indianapolis chiropractors Drs. Steve and Chelsey Smiley are excited to offer Indy, Zionsville, and the surrounding areas therapeutic exercise classes.

We all know winter is among us and many people have injured their back shoveling snow. It is our goal to help the community stay pain free and this includes gaining core stability, learning how to use your glutes, keeping your shoulders out of harms way, and eating to reduce inflammation in the body.

A series of "glute" classes will be availiable. The focus of the beginner class is start "waking up the muscle." The core stability class teaches you how to use your core muscles to prevent injuries and perform at optimal levels. Core stability and function is essential in beating and preventing back pain. It is also essential in many activities of daily living such as shoveling snow or picking up your toddler. The functional shoulder class is a one-time class. The focus of this class is teaching injury prevention and how to use the shoulder the proper way. Proper shoulder mechanics is essential in almost every profession and sport.

An anti-inflammatory series of classes will be taught on a weekly basis. Part 1 of the anti-inflammatory series teaches you which foods are great for beating inflammation and which foods are promoting inflammation in your body. Part 2 entails nutritional supplementation that can be used to fight inflammation, prevent injuries, and stay pain free.
