This release of the Cloud Management Platform introduces market-leading features for IBM SoftLayer and Huawei customers, Linux server platform users, DevOps teams and Windows Azure Pack users.
CloudController® v2.9 introduces improvements in many functional areas that provide more value-add to its hybrid, private and public Cloud users. CloudController® v2.9 now includes full integration and automation for the IBM SoftLayer public cloud service and the Huawei FusionSphere hypervisor. Enterprises and Service Providers can now easily provide more extensive hybrid cloud services from a true ‘Single-Pane-of-Glass’. CloudController® seamlessly integrates to existing on-premise and hybrid cloud resources – avoiding drastic changes to existing corporate policies.
Major New Features in CloudController® Version 2.9
CloudController® Platform BuilderTM (CCPB)
The CloudController® Platform BuilderTM is a complete versatile cloud-based enterprise distribution development platform, which allows cloud users to simply and easily package, build and automatically deploy Linux server software platforms and DevOps environments simultaneously for multiple distributions on any cloud VM or bare metal server resource.
Single or multiple distribution Builds, including selected software (system or applications) can be easily assembled, built and integrated into service catalogs for on-demand deployment to any on-premise or public cloud VM. Linux builds are literally prepared and ready for deployment in a consistent fashion in minutes with a few clicks of the mouse!
CloudController® Platform BuilderTM reduces the complexity around Linux Platforms and makes sure reliable Builds are available for distribution. The following Linux distributions are fully supported: CentOS, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, RedHat, SUSE.
Cloud Brokerage Capabilities
CloudController® now provides service users the ability to broker service choices amongst any private or public cloud based upon roles, the cloud user hierarchy and filterable parameters. Service users can easily choose and order their desired service (i.e. VM IaaS or PaaS configuration) from a list of preconfigured service catalog items, based upon component configuration and price. It is now easy to choose from a list of services that can be deployed anywhere in a Cloud, whether on on-premise or public cloud assets.
Windows Azure Pack Integration
CloudController® now offers Windows Azure Pack (WAP) users the ability to run a heterogeneous hybrid Cloud from the same interface they are familiar with for managing services in the Microsoft Cloud!
The CloudController® WAP extension allows Microsoft customers to orchestrate and manage hybrid cloud services from within WAP with CloudController®. The two products are seamlessly integrated, providing WAP tenants with all the CloudController® features that allow them to deliver Anything-as-a-Service to run on all CloudController® supported hypervisors and Public Cloud Platforms.
Twilio Messaging System Integration
CloudController® now offers cloud users the ability to utilize the Twilio web service API to enable additional notification methods for CloudController® workflow events. Twilio’s messaging system is fully embedded in the CloudController® Automation Engine. Twilio enables CloudController® users to configure notifications by telephone calls (with call-back), or SMS (with SMS-back), in addition to the standard existing e-mail notifications. Users can now be easily advised that critical workflow events related to approvals, provisioning, plus more than 30 other events have occurred with multiple notification methods.
