IMonitorSoft Donated Employee Monitoring Software to Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities in Thailand (CCD)
Online, March 12, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities (CCD) has been providing care and support to abandoned children with disabilities, regardless of gender, nationality, creed or religion, since 1986. Our Mission is to demonstrate Jesus' love by helping disabled children achieve t heir highest potential though a holistic approach and to enable them to have equal rights, opportunities, a good quality of life and full integration into mainstream society. We touch the lives of about 400 Children.
We have a reasonably well equipped IT system using a Win 2008 Domain Server and with c.45 Win7 clients. In addition to office staff pc's , we have a dedicated computer room for the children now with 9 PC's which are used for training and computer/internet literacy. CCD does have a Fortigate hardware firewall which includes web filtering to prevent children from accessing inappropriate web sites. Whilst this Firewall catches almost all inappropriate websites this is on general global basis, we have found that that some children are still accessing questionable sites and using email or social media inappropriately.
We don't want to catch the children looking at naughty websites but we do have a duty to provide care and protection to our children and to monitor their educational progress. Since each child has its own login, using iMonitor keylogger software and Mac Keylogger we are able to monitor individual's actions, whether web surfing, or communications on social media, homework and play activities and better fulfil our responsibilities to them. For example we have discovered that some Thai social media sites are somewhat questionable and with iMonitor we are able to review what the teenage children are doing and who they are talking to. This is extremely powerful and enables us to discuss issues with individuals to explain the potential dangers of social media communications, that some people are not nice! and engender awareness and hopefully some self-discipline. Therefore it is of key importance to us that iMonitor supports UTF8 characters ( in our case Thai script).
Of course using iMonitor has been somewhat revealing to see how much time is spent by both children and staff using social media, web browsing, web streaming, games and educational/work because iMonitor also provides application software usage as well as internet browsing activities. Without monitoring software like iMonitor it is very difficult to track individuals internet and application usage to to be able to rectify inappropriate use - even to discover who, rather than which ip) is hogging the bandwidth. iMonitor provide a plethora of reports which allow a comprehensive review of PC/Network usage. Who is doing What, When, Where? This software has improved our ability to manage the children in our care and our responsibilities to our kind donors to ensure funds are used to the best advantage.
