Insomnia is a symptom which can accompany of any of several medical, sleep and psychiatric disorders, characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep despite the opportunity. Insomnia is typically followed by functional impairment while awake. Both organic and non-organic insomnia without other cause constitute a sleep disorder, primary insomnia. In other word, insomnia is an inability to sleep or chronic sleeplessness.

Orik Ibad says: "64 million Americans regularly suffer from insomnia each year which is serious number. Also it is more common in women than men. There are several causes of insomnia, but it is usually caused by side effects of medications or another diseases. It is important to define the causes of insomnia before the treatment".

There are different treatments for insomnia. They are non-pharmacological treatments which include hypnotic medication, cognitive behavior therapy, medications, benzodiazepines, non-benzodiazepines, antidepressants, melatonin and melatonin agonists, antihistamines, atypical antipsychotic, other substances like valerian, chamomile, hops and so on. Hypnosis is one of the ways to cure insomnia problems.

"The main cause of insomnia is a lack of relaxation, anxiety and worries in your mind. So the problem is in the mind. If you can eliminate worries and anxiety from your mind, your brain can easily enter alpha state.
