HOUSTON, December 5, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Houston managed services provider (MSP) HighPoint Technology Group is pleased to announce its recent hire of Gary Folkes who will join the cloud and managed services company as vice president of Operations. Folkes will elevate the company’s leading service desk, network operations and IT support operations as it pertains to the client experience. In addition to optimizing the company’s managed services offering, Folkes brings over 25 years of IT operations, managed services and IT consulting experience to lead the continuing advancement of HighPoint’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure hyper-connected, low latency hybrid cloud infrastructure environments.

Folkes comes to HighPoint with over 25 years of experience in IT managed services, consulting and outsourcing services. Most recently, Folkes was president of ProIT Solutions before merging operations with another managed services provider. There, he led the organization through substantial growth in the Texas region by providing similar managed services to small and mid-size companies. His entrepreneurial background has helped Folkes to make an easy transition into his current position with HighPoint.
In addition to his IT services experience, Folkes has extensive experience with cloud-based solutions in particular. Before working for ProIT Solutions, Folkes served as president of Contracting Solutions Inc., a firm focused on cloud solutions for a wide range of organizations across multiple industries.

Folkes combines his recent experience in strategic leadership and consulting with past experience in a number of other areas, specifically infrastructure architecture, telecommunications and as an advisory board member for several organizations.
