Hong Kong Trade Development Council and International Economic Development Council Sign Memorandum of Understanding

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council  (HKTDC) and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Plenary Session of IEDC’s 2015 Annual Conference on October 5, 2015.

Through the MOU, the HKTDC and the IEDC express their intent to cooperate on promoting bilateral promotional activities. The partnership aims to leverage Hong Kong’s strategic regional position as a commercial, financial, logistics, business services, and trade fair capital to significantly increase the number of member companies and business connections for IEDC and HKTDC.


After the signing, Ralph Chow, Americas Regional Director, HKTDC, said: "As a business services hub, Hong Kong is the most effective platform for American business to expand to Asia and capture the growth potential in the region. “

JoAnn Crary, CEcD, IEDC chair and president of Saginaw Future Inc., added that, "HKTDC and IEDC’s partnership will allow both parties to grow and better perform. I look forward to what the future holds for HKTDC and IEDC and to the development of the partnership." 

Jeffrey Finkle, president & CEO of IEDC, added that, “HKTDC is a grand gateway to Hong Kong and Asia for IEDC members and their communities. I am happy that we could formalize the relationship so that both parties can create a clearer path for businesses to connect to other markets."
