Honda Reveals World Touring Car Championship Civic

As one of many announcements at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Honda debuted their special WTCC Civic.

It is with pride that the team at Cawood Honda announces that the automaker's entry into the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) is a unique, race-ready Honda Civic. Among new vehicle announcements and previews of concept cars, the track-friendly Civic surely caught the eye of many a passerby.

Despite its aerodynamically-enhanced design, the WTCC Civic has a fair bit in common with the 2013 model available now, albeit specifically tuned for the 12-round racing season, starting late March in Italy. Improvements beyond the body sculpt and aerodynamics included improved braking and suspension as well as multiple engine and turbocharger enhancements.

In addition to Honda's racing team getting time behind the wheel, ZengÅ' Motorsport of Hungary will also field the new Civic this season. For stateside fans of the series, the WTCC will be in the United States on September 8 at the Sonoma Raceway's Race of the United States.

Although drivers will surely have a different experience driving the 2013 Civic Coupe or Sedan than the WTCC model, there's quite a bit to enjoy about the street version of one of Honda's most popular autos. Not only did it recently earn the IIHS's Top Safety Pick+ designation, but it is loaded with standard features that other vehicles charge extra for, including:
• Bluetooth phone and audio streaming
• SMS text messaging capabilities
• Honda's i-MID infotainment system
• Rearview camera system
• Alloy wheels

The 2013 Honda Civic - available as in Coupe, Sedan, and Hybrid body styles - is available now at Cawood Honda.

Continuing Honda's dedication to their drivers, the European rounds of the 2013 WTCC will feature a "Honda Fan Zone" in the paddock to give enthusiasts an even greater chance to get close to the world of Honda racing.

As one of the leading sources for new Honda vehicles and information about the automaker, readers with questions about the WTCC Civic and other Geneva Motor Show news should contact Cawood Honda. Their dealership features the full lineup of new Honda models and is located at 2516 Pine Grove Avenue in Port Huron, Michigan. Sales professionals are on site six days a week.
