"HOLiday Cheer" Donations Totaling $5,000 Made by SOLitude Lake Management and Staff

Virginia Beach, VA, December 18, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Through its corporate volunteering and outreach program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the United States, donated games and toys to health stricken children and gift cards, toys, games, clothes and other necessities to under resourced families in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Lynchburg, Virginia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lincoln, Delaware and Spencer, Massachusetts. In the program's fourth year, the 2015 total “HOLiday Cheer” donation totaled $5,000.

This year, SOLitude partnered with the B-Strong Foundation (www.b-strongfoundation.org), a non-profit organization that provides meals, gift baskets, and encouragement to families with children who have been diagnosed with cancer at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). SOLitude also coordinated with the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD), in Norfolk, Virginia. Toys and games were donated for the children to provide an uplifting distraction while going through trying health-related experiences. SOLitude donated over $800 total in toys and games to both hospitals, which increased $10 for every new social media follower SOLitude received in the month of November.

The “HOLiday Cheer” families adopted this year live in Lynchburg, Virginia and Lincoln, Delaware. These families, which included eight children in total, were selected by SOLitude staff, clients and faculty at local elementary and middle schools based on nominations showing a true need for additional “HOLiday Cheer” and financial support during a very trying time. SOLitude team members generously purchased multiple items from the children's wish lists to include items such as winter coats, warm clothes and shoes, toy dolls, sports gear and new games. Each family also received a Target gift card to allow them to purchase additional holiday presents and household items along with a gas card to offset their fuel expense.

We also supported several under privileged children throughout the communities we serve by donating to Toys for Tots in Massachusetts, along with donating Christmas turkeys and toys for 45 under privileged families with elementary aged school children in Virginia.
