HLAA-CA Announces Participation in the California Academy of Audiology Conference in San Jose, September 2015
San Jose, California, July 31, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The California Academy of Audiology (CAA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization representing audiologists in California. CAA monitors and promotes state legislative activities that affect audiologists and their patients with hearing and balance disorders in California and employs the lobbying group, Sacramento Advocates. CAA also works closely with the state's consumer-focused licensing board, the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board. In addition, CAA organizes an annual state educational conference. The CAA conference provides educational offerings and networking opportunities, and exhibitors showcase their latest products and services.
In particular, HLAA-CA's booth will provide information for those with hearing loss. Attendees will learn about the latest phone captioning options, recent innovations in hearing aids, assistive listening devices, new technology, and HLAA services. Throughout California, there are 18 HLAA chapters, which hold regular meetings for individuals to learn about techniques and equipment that can help people with hearing loss hear better on the phone, in meetings, while watching TV, in noisy restaurants, or at parties. Hearing loss is a daily challenge that can be overcome. Hearing loss need not be hidden.
