Independent Chicago Hip Hop Artist, D.A. Smart, releases a new single entitled " Mercy Mecy Me." This song speaks against violence going on in Chicago, encouages parents to rear their children better, take control of their household and to play a more active role in reducing killings involving children. Some of the proceeds from the single will go to two peace groups located in
Chicago such as CeaseFire and Kids Off The Block (KOB). Diane Latiker, Founder of KOB heard the song and will like to start a movement around it. The song mentions the names of sixteen deceased victims of Chicago violence starting with Blair Holt, who was killed trying to protect a girl on a bus in 2007. The artist is hoping the song reaches enough people that will listen to it and start playing a more active role in reducing crime. " Music is
a universal langauge to reach people and this is why I chose this vehicle to get the message out " said D.A. Smart.Press contact: Artist Manager - Daveed Pierce (630) 205-5622 Email: p.daveed@yahoo.com
