Hilton and Clean the World Lead the Charge for Sustainability With Year-Round Soap Recycling Program

Partnership has Diverted Nearly One Million Pounds of Waste from Landfills

Carrying this mission throughout the year, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and Clean the World are highlighting the importance of sustainable travel and environmental practices, and how travelers are contributing to making a difference in their local communities and across the world when they stay with Hilton brands.

Hilton has implemented a soap recycling program with Clean the World as part of its corporate social responsibility commitment, Travel with Purpose, which focuses on three key objectives: creating opportunities, strengthening communities and preserving the environment. The All Suites Brands by Hilton, which include Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites, became the first three major hospitality brands to make recycling discarded soap and amenity bottles a brand standard at each of its more than 750 hotels.

Recycling soap can change lives and help prevent hygiene-related deaths. Hilton and Clean the World have already collected and recycled enough used soap to distribute over five million new bars of soap to communities in need. In total, Clean the World has distributed more than 40 million bars of soap in 115 countries, and has helped divert more than 14.8 million pounds of waste from going to landfills.

Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites, Hilton’s extended stay brands, offer kitchens with 100% washable china rather than paper or plastic, along with recycling containers in all guestrooms and public spaces. Home2 Suites properties are also made up of 65% recycled materials.
