Highlands Oncology Group to Sponsor Bike Ride Supporting the Cancer Challenge
ROGERS, Ark., October 4, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Highlands Oncology Group, Northwest Arkansas’ leading cancer treatment provider, is sponsoring a bike ride to benefit The Cancer Challenge. The event will consist of a 13.1-mile bike ride along the greenway. The bike ride will begin at 10 a.m. on Oct. 7 at the Highlands Oncology Group location at 808 S. 52nd Street in Rogers.
Along with the bike ride, the event will include a food truck, ice cream, chair massages, bike and helmet fittings, music and a DJ. There will also be a dunk booth where you can “dunk a doc.” The cost of participation is $15 dollars per child between the ages of five and 17, 20 dollars per adult and free participation for children four and younger. The first 500 participants will receive a hat and t-shirt.
The Cancer Challenge is an organization that advocates for the research and progression of cancer care. All proceeds from the event will benefit programs and services supported by The Cancer Challenge including: Arkansas Children’s Hospital Northwest, Circle of Life Hospice, Community Clinic, Hope Cancer Resources, Mercy Health Foundation NWA, Oncology Supportive Services and Washington Regional Cancer Support Home.
Since 1993, The Cancer Challenge has invested more than 11 million dollars into the Northwest Arkansas community for direct patient services, according to their website.
