High Schools in Kingman Commit to Safe Driving
Kingman, AZ, October 24, 2014 (Newswire.com) - They are asking local teens and community members to commit to safe driving once a day, every day from October 15-24 in support of their favorite high school on the Celebrate My Drive website. Two grand prize winning schools will receive a private concert from The Band Perry. Additionally, the 100 high schools with the most online safe driving commitments will win a grant award of $25,000 or $100,000.
“When State Farm announced Celebrate My Drive, and the grants that were being offered, I immediately jumped at the chance,” said Deana Nelson, local State Farm agent. “I truly believe one, if not all of our high schools could win - and that’s a game changer for our community.”
To help get the word out, the State Farm team will be coordinating with Kingman High School principal, Janelle Victory; Lee Williams principal, Gretchen Dorner; Kingman Academy principal, Jeff Martin; and the Student Activities Council at Mohave Community College. Flyers will be distributed throughout the community to schools and supporting employers, and State Farm employees will be on site at high school events throughout the campaign.
About Celebrate My Drive®:
Celebrate My Drive is a different approach to a leading public health risk. Car crashes are the number one killer of teens, and a teen’s first year on the road is the most dangerous. Using research as a guide, State Farm is approaching teen driver safety, a winnable public health battle, by engaging teens while they learn to drive in a supportive and positive way. It’s a community celebration of safe driving habits emphasizing the benefits of safe choices as teens celebrate the freedom that comes with getting a drivers’ license.
