High Cost of IVF - Infertility Doctors Announces New IVF Technology!

Millions of infertile couples struggling to have their own babies can now heave a sigh of relief. A new ivf technology has been developed to facilitate the ivf process. This is indeed good news if you've been struggling with the pains of infertility.

If you've been struggling with the pains and psychological trauma of infertility, there is renewed hope!

Millions of infertile couples struggling to have their own babies can now heave a sigh of relief. A new ivf technology has been developed to facilitate the ivf process. This new technology has been proven to reduce the high cost of ivf and also increase the success rate of in vitro fertilization!

Over the years ivf has been the best option for infertility suffering couples to have their own children. However, because of the high cost of in vitro fertilization, many have no option than to opt for cheaper but less effective infertility treatments. But that is about to change for the good. With this new technology, suffering infertile couples can now have their own children at a lesser in vitro fertilization cost!

Speaking on the gains of this new ivf technology, Chadrack Irobogo of http://ivfinfertilityhelp.com quoted Dr Dagan Wells from Oxford University as saying:

"Current tests are adding a significant amount of money on to an already expensive procedure and that is limiting access; most patients have to pay for this out of pocket themselves.

"What our technique does is it gives you the number of chromosomes and other biological information about the embryo at a low cost - probably about two thirds of the price of existing methods of screening,"

It is not just about the cost. Currently, it is reported that as few as a quarter of IVF attempts lead to a birth because of the abnormalities in an embryo's DNA. This has been a challenge to infertility doctors as these abnormalities either stops any pregnancy from taking place or where a pregnancy results, it results in a miscarriage and sometimes, it can even lead to conditions such as Down's syndrome!

However, with this new technology called next generation sequencing; fertility doctors are now able to select only the best embryos for use in an ivf infertility treatment. They can now easily determine whether embryos have the correct number of chromosomes and do this within 24 hours - a procedure that has taken several attempts and weeks or months of testing before now. This has greatly reduced the cost of ivf to about $750 as against $5000-$10,000 which is the average cost IVF treatments carried out each year in licensed clinics in Britain.

A small-scale trial of this new technology has so far proved very effective. The first reported successful case of this new technology is the birth of baby Connor Levy in the US. Connor Levy parents who had been trying to start a family for five years without any success were highly elated with the coming of the baby.

With apparent joy Marybeth, mother of Connor Levy, recounted how tough it had been:

"It takes its toll, there were some days I would break down and cry, I wanted to hide in my bedroom and say stop. Then to see him... all this hard work and we have finally got our little tiny human being named Connor.

"The first time I saw Connor, I was smashed with emotion. David and I are crazy, insanely in love with this kid," She continued,

If the results of this new ivf technology is anything to go by then we look forward to a system that will not only reduce the cost of in vitro fertilization and increased chances of infertile couples having their own children but it could also lead to having healthier IVF babies. This is because the test can also be used to look for genetic diseases, many of which kill in infancy or lead to miscarriages.

While a large-scale trial is planned for the UK later this year, millions of infertility sufferers can take solace in the fact that there is hope. So, if you have tried In vitro fertilization before now without any success or you have avoided the option because of the high in vitro fertilization cost, then know it that depending on the trials, this new breakthrough ivf technology will be available through private clinics in as little as 18 months
