Hers Magazine Celebrates with a Launch Party
Atlanta, GA, October 27, 2014 (Newswire.com) - With now three highly-popular issues published, Hers magazine celebrates with an official launch theme party this Thursday in downtown Atlanta.
The masquerade themed party is on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Vibe Restaurant & Lounge, 30 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd., Atlanta, Ga. The event, which starts at 7 p.m., is free for subscribers and $10 for others. As a courtesy to all guests, the first round of drinks is free along with appetizers. Those featured in stories, including Dr. Heavenly Kimes of Bravo’s “Married to Medicine,” are expected to attend.
Whether it's giving too much time and other resources at work, in relationships or with leisure activities, every woman I talked to had the same issue. As a journalist, I decided to chronicle our journey to equilibrium in a magazine.

Quickly becoming one of the most significant online publications for women, Hers published its first issue this summer in June 2014 featuring a cover story on Kimes. Along with her somewhat controversial stance on a woman’s role in marriage, Kimes suggested that women can have it all. “That story was important,” says the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Annette Johnson, “because in trying to have it all, women often create an imbalance that shifts focus from the most important things, including our health or families.”
The magazine is for working women who seek or know they need more balance in their lives. It presents information that creates or enhances the balance of a woman’s personal, social and economic needs in order for her to attain a true sense of fulfillment. “I was on a personal discovery of finding balance, but I knew I couldn’t be the only professional woman suffering from a lopsided lifestyle. Whether it’s giving too much time and other resources at work, in relationships or with leisure activities, every woman I talked to had the same issue. As a journalist, I decided to chronicle our journey to equilibrium in a magazine.”
Johnson explains that the magazine is not just for women who simply exist. It’s for those who impact people at home, within their social group, at work, in the community or wherever they go. These women fill him, her and them, but she is often left feeling empty or even taken for granted. So this is Hers, just for her – her space, her place, her magazine. Here is where she can be refilled and refreshed with things that interest her and keep her balanced in her outlook and activities.
Hers is national online publication that features a new issue every other month, or six times per year. The latest issue (November/December 2014) features Lisa Nicole Cloud, Deborah Hightower and topics like the “Myths of Sex Addiction.” You can read it and others on issuu.com/hersmagazine
The next issue will feature Claudia Jordan, the newest cast member of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The magazine will sponsor a women’s convention in March 2015.
