Online, February 10, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Warm Springs Dental, a Las Vegas Cosmetic Dentist office recently introduced "Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics" or CEREC to their practice to produce new crowns for their patient without all the inconvenience of past procedures. CEREC uses cutting edge technology that allows their patients the convenience of one visit crowns. In this one visit, the doctor can design, create and place a new ceramic crown in less that two hours.

By using 3D, Computer Assisted Design (CAD) the doctor virtually designs the crown with very precise measurements at the patient's chair-side after he has removed the damage or decay and prepped the tooth to receive the new crown. Once the crown is designed, CEREC uses a specially designed machine to mill the new crown from a solid block of ceramic. When the machine is finished making the crown the doctor checks the fit for accuracy and cements it in to place. Once the crown is cemented the patient is on his way and no second appointment is necessary.

Before Warm Springs Dental installed CEREC, patients would schedule a first appointment where an impression of the tooth and bite were taken. Then the doctor would fit the patient with a temporary crown. The impression was sent to the dental lab to be produced and the patient would schedule a second appointment. Once the crown was finish by the lab, usually in about two week, it was sent back to office where the patient would return to be fitted with the new permanent crown. CEREC virtually eliminate this time consuming process.
