Houston Chapter of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World launches massive drug prevention campaign.​

What:     Houston chapter of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World has handed out 100,000 copies of drug prevention booklets this week. On February 4 they plan to break the world record of distribution of Truth About Drugs booklets in a single day.

Who:      James Brooks, who heads the team of Houston volunteers for the Foundation for a Drug-Free World and dozens of local volunteers

When:     Saturday, February 4, from noon to 2 pm

Where:    The Truth About Drugs booth at Houston Live, Root Square Park, near the basketball court

Why:      With the Kush epidemic making headlines and University of Texas now reporting cocaine killed more people in Harris County than any other drug last year, the Houston chapter of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World is using the week before the Big Game to launch a massive drug prevention campaign.

“The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is an international drug prevention organization that uses large sporting events to launch drug education programs in cities around the world,” says Brooks. “Last year we carried out massive campaigns at the UEFA EURO soccer championships and the Rio Olympics. This year we are using the Big Game to launch an all-out offensive against drug addiction in Houston."
