Helmut and The Call will not starr on Sanremo Festival

"There's absolutely no way Helmut and The Call will be on Sanremo Festival in Italy".

"There's absolutely no way Helmut and The Call will be on Sanremo Festival in Italy". With these few words Josif Novikov, also know as Josif "The Great", had put off the voices that had the emerging Russian indie band from Kiev being guested and international act on the 61th edition of "Festival di Sanremo 2010". The Italian Festival is quite popular in Europe for having guested famous international artists in the past such as Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Cliff Richard and Blur.

Emerging from the clubs of Kiev, Helmut And The Call climbed to the top of the pop scene in 2010 with their project album still on the make: "King Of The Wasteland", inspired by the works of Michail Bulgakov.

The Festival della canzone italiana is a popular Italian song contest running since 1951 and held annually from Teatro Ariston in the city of Sanremo. Usually referred to as Festival di Sanremo, or outside Italy as Sanremo Music Festival, it was the inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest. For some years (from 1953 to 1971, except for 1956) each song was sung twice by two different interpreters (singer or band), each one using an individual orchestral arrangement to illustrate the meaning of the festival as a composers' competition, not a singers' competition.
