Harris School Solutions Partners with Mountain Brook City Schools and Choctaw County Schools for Employee Self Service (ESS)

The Employee Self Service application for NextGen provides real-time information access for employees anytime, from anywhere.

Harris School Solutions is pleased to announce that Mountain Brook City Schools and the Choctaw County Schools have enhanced their existing NextGen financial management solution, with their recent decision to implement the new Employee Self Service (ESS) application, now available for NextGen. Harris’ NextGen software provides a seamlessly integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for the K-12 sector. The addition of the ESS application will enhance the employee experience with a user-friendly interface and streamlining day-to-day operations.

Mountain Brook City Schools in Birmingham, Alabama is comprised of six schools with 618 employees.  Karen Lusk-Smith, CPA, CGFO, Chief School Finance Officer for Mountain Brook City Schools stated, “Mountain Brook has always strived to be proactive in the accounting arena by trying to have the foresight to implement software that will enhance efficiency and create a more equal workflow between staff members.  The ESS software has served to help in the paperless environment by allowing the uploading of employee documents and making the employee feel more empowered by the utilization of these abilities.”

The NextGen ESS application provides K-12 district employees access to view leave balance/history, current benefit elections, deductions, and direct deposit information, in addition to managing personal information.  This added functionality results in streamlined processes for Human Resources and Payroll departments.

Deana Kovalcik, Vice President of Sales for Harris School Solutions, Financial Solutions noted that “We are committed to delivering functionality that is in line with the changing needs of our clients.  Many school districts are moving to paperless processes to save money and empower their end users.  We are excited to support our clients by delivering on-line Employee Self Service for NextGen.”

Kevin L. Howard, Human Resource Director of the Choctaw County Board of Education in Butler, Alabama stated, “I can see how ESS will greatly enhance and streamline our accounting department, especially by empowering our employees.  There are many functions that the employees will be able to do for themselves, which will greatly enhance the efficiency of our department.  ESS will also help save on postage.  We are in the age of technology, and we should use all aspects of technology to the fullest.”
