Harmar's New AL425HD Does the Heavy Lifting

Harmar has supported the estimated $1 billion+ power chair marketplace, offering 200 to 400 lb capacity lifts in a large variety of Outside, Inside, and Hybrid models. Now Harmar is introducing a model for those heavier power chairs over 400 lbs. The AL425HD is a 450 lb capacity Power Chair Hoist. It answers the demand for greater weight capacity for power chair users, many of whom are Veterans. The power chairs they are prescribed are becoming more technologically advanced, thus heavier, and require a higher capacity lift for transport. “We have seen this trend towards high capacity happening, first with our outside lifts and now for the hoists. Harmar collaborated with power chair manufacturers and our dealers to come up with the solution. Now we can say YES WE CAN to inquiries up to 450 lb.” said David Baxter, Harmar’s vice president of marketing.
Harmar’s greater capacity lifts have lighter install weights so while they are hefty enough to get the job done, they don’t weigh down the vehicle as other options do. This gives higher fuel efficiency, the AL425HD install weight is just 70 lb.

The AL425HD offers powered lifting and rotation functions that reduces effort to load a large variety of power chairs. It offers a built-in offset post that allows the mobility device to be easily loaded from the side of a vehicle. Due to the increased weight of the power chairs – the AL425HD is ideal for pick-up trucks and full size vans. It is designed with adjustable base adapters for faster installation and comes with a weather resistant hand control or an optional wireless control if preferred. Tested at 3-times maximum capacity, the AL425HD offers a three year transferable warranty.
