Hall of Fame Baseball Player Pedro Martinez Holds Charity Event in Boston
Boston, MA, November 11, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Hall of Fame Baseball Player Pedro Martinez held a charity event at The Colonnade Hotel on Friday, November 4 2016, which included some of his closest friends and colleagues. The vision for The Pedro Martinez Charity was shared at this event, as well as the way in which they are currently impacting over 400 children every day, but need the help of the public to be able to reach even more children.
The Pedro Martinez Charity has been operating for almost 20 years and its mission is to holistically educate and support underserved children and their families through arts, sports, health and life skills at the Pedro Martinez Charity Community Center in the Dominican Republic. The Pedro Martinez Charity also provides children with daily meals, education, job skills programs, college tuition, extra-curricular activities, community support, family counseling and more.
We believe children are one of the greatest joys in life, and it's the responsibility of all of us to take care of them.

For nearly 20 years, Pedro Martinez and his wife, Carolina Martinez, have been the main donors of this non-profit organization. Currently, there are over 500 children in the Dominican Republic that are on the waiting list to be part of the programs offered at the Pedro Martinez Charity, therefore, Pedro and Carolina chose to have this event in Boston to raise donations to be able to help support even more children. The Pedro Martinez Charity had its beginnings in 1998 in Boston, Massachusetts, from where Pedro and Carolina Martinez helped children throughout the United States and then decided to launch the official Pedro Martinez Charity in the Dominican Republic. Today the Pedro Martinez Charity is a fully running non-profit organization and Carolina Martinez is the Executive Director.
