GTM Solutions: Ford Increase Output As Customers Come Back

Online, August 25, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Ford is to increase production as the Cash for Clunkers program helps stimulate the car industry.

This quarter sources from Ford told GTM Solutions that they have seen a increase in sales, which can be related to the program. Because of this the car maker has decided to increase output to meet the demand.

GTM Solutions were told that Ford will increase production on their Ford Focus range by an extra six thousand over the next quarter. This is good news to the employees of Ford, as they will be given the chance to work overtime and at the weekends to fill the new demand.

This has been a nice improvement from this time last year when production was low, currently Ford is already up 18 percent from this time last year.

Speaking to GTM Solutions Ford sales analyst George Pipas explained that even they were surprised by the effectiveness of the Cash for Clunkers program. Many customers have eagerly gone to the dealers to get great government discounts of the retail price.

Customers can get up to $4500 of the retail price of a vehicle depending on how green the car is. So if you trade in your older model for the most fuel-efficient version you can get a full rebate.

From the program Ford and Asian models have benefited the most, with Ford taking 16 percent of the new deals from the program. Ford did not take any bailout money from the government but it did participate in this program.
