Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) will soon be here and in celebration of the most romantic time of the year Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours is offering discounts on it's most popular flights from Las Vegas and South Rim.

Deals

"In addition to basic helicopter tours, there are deluxe flights, all of which use the superior EcoStar 130 helicopter. What makes the EcoStar special is that it's 25 percent bigger than a regular helicopter. This additional size allows it to include stadium-style seats and a massive 180-degree wraparound windshield. "

The chopper ride that's being promoted is the basic flyover. It goes over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the Colorado River and the Canyon before turning back for Vegas. The South Rim trip on sale is the basic 30-minute flight, which goes rim-to-rim via the Dragoon Corridor.

In addition to the special Valentine offers, further discounts are being offered on standard and deluxe flights if booked online and in advance. Following these two-steps can save travelers up to 35% percent off the retail price.

The most popular Las Vegas landing tour is the one that goes to the bottom for a Champagne picnic. Many travelers opt to upgrade this particular flight to include a boat ride down the Colorado River and tickets to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Skywalk

The Skywalk, which is also known as the Glass Bridge, is a structure that costs more than $25 million to build and lets travelers walk some 70 feet over the edge until they are standing an estimated 4,000 feet over the bottom.

At South Rim, most travelers are opting for the longer 50-minute flight. It includes the Dragoon Corridor, which is the widest and deepest section of the Canyon, plus everything up to the Park's eastern boundary. In less than an hour, travelers will have seen more than 75% of the National Park.

RSVP

As mentioned earlier, it's best to reserve Valentine's Day heli rides in advance. Best practice is to book these flights right after hotel rooms are purchased. Avoid booking heli rides within 24 hours of flight time as prices spike and availability drops. And in the event a flight must be cancelled, it can be done 24 hours prior to flight time.

Cold weather is still prevailing at the West Rim and the South Rim. In order to prepare, it's recommended that travelers wear a medium-weight jacket, gloves, a hat, sunglasses, long pants and closed-toe shoes (e.g. running shoes or boots). Bear in mind that all helicopters are equipped with on-board climate control and are heated.

Tours are all-inclusive, which means the price is fixed and includes all taxes, fees, fuel surcharges and National Park entrance fees. Further, all landing tours include free hotel transfer to and from all Las Vegas Strip resorts. If a traveler takes a deluxe tour from Vegas, transfer is done via limousine. All Vegas landing tours come with a meal.
