GPTC 2010: Many Leaders, One Global Perspective.

Fleming Gulf's Global Petrochemicals Technology Conference 2010 in Doha, Qatar will pave the way for innovations and radical developments in the petrochemical industry.

Industry veterans from some of the biggest petrochemical conglomerates the world over are gathering in Doha, Qatar to discuss key touch points facing the industry today. Representatives from companies like Saudi Aramco, SIPCHEM, BASF, SABIC, Reliance Industries and ORYX GTL, to name a few, will speak on topics such as innovations & new developments, integration of petrochemicals & refineries and latest environment friendly technologies.

With a month left to this conference, Dr Kaspar Evertz, a senior Vice President from LyondellBasell Industries, Germany gives his perspective on the global outlook. He states, "Leaving behind one of the worst economic downturns with significant demand drops for petrochemical products, the look ahead for the industry will require answers to two mayor challenges: How to cope with the industry with the expected supply overcapacity for petrochemicals with impact on the producer structure and the supply patterns?, and how to manage increasing requirements for sustainability and environmentally friendly production technologies? While the first challenge might be - given the cyclic nature of the industry - more imminent, the second challenge requires a longer breath view." He goes on to add, "The upcoming GPTC conference in Doha will be well positioned to allow representatives from the industry to address both challenges and offer solutions."

Dave Smith, Vice President, Polyethylene from Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP shares his excitement about the conference - "I am so delighted to be participating in and speaking at the Global Petrochemicals Technology Conference in Doha. At Chevron Phillips Chemical, we know that when our ideas and insights are presented in forums like this, our thinking gets better and stronger. Also it's true - a candle loses nothing by lighting another. Our company has played an important role in Qatar's petrochemical and plastics community from the start, so we have some useful lessons learned to share. We are especially proud to discuss our most recent advances in Loop Slurry technology. The timing is perfect. This conference comes in the midst of a very challenging but paradoxical global economy - worldwide economic pressures continue but our plastics industry remains healthy. Even so, as industry leaders, we understand that our future depends on encouraging customers to participate in and guide our direction. This is especially true as new capacity comes online in the Mideast and Asia. Luck will favor those who share their insights about innovation, speed and the necessity of finding cost advantages to enable competitive leverage. "

Fleming Gulf's Global Petrochemicals Technology Conference 2010 will take place between October 4th and 6th at The Sharq Village & Spa, Doha, Qatar and will deliver key insights, strategies and emerging trends that will play a pivotal role in the petrochemical technology market in the years to come.
