Good Day Pharmacy CEO Wins NASPA Excellence in Innovation Award

Vicki Einhellig, CEO of Colorado-based Good Day Pharmacy, was honored on June 20, 2019, at the Colorado Pharmacists Society annual meeting in Blackhawk, Colorado and awarded the NASPA Excellence in Innovation Award. The Excellence in Innovation award is a national award coordinated by State Pharmacy Associations to recognize a pharmacist who has demonstrated significant innovation in their practice, resulting in improved patient care and/or advancement of the pharmacy profession.

For over two decades leading the largest independent pharmacy chain in Colorado, “Vicki has been committed to the advancement of community pharmacy through the incorporation of clinical services into the community pharmacy setting with the intention to increase access to patients, improve patient compliance and customer satisfaction, and decrease healthcare costs,” said Karly Bergquist, PharmD, PGY1 Pharmacy Resident. Two of those clinical services include prescribing hormonal contraceptive patches and oral contraceptives and the dispensing of tobacco cessation products, both approved protocols by the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy. Ms. Einhellig and her team incorporated these programs into the workflow of Good Day Pharmacy.

Vicki supports innovative ideas and goals. Under her leadership, Good Day Pharmacy provides other unique consult services, including: Breast Care Center, Travel Clinic, and clinical medication synchronization. The company also participated in a program where they partnered with a physician practice to provide comprehensive medication reviews and diabetes consultations. The pharmacy’s participation proved to be an asset, providing guideline-based and impactful medication recommendations that improve patient health.

The admirable dedication of Vicki has also led Good Day Pharmacy to receive the NCPA NICE Innovation Award 2018, Top 100 Woman-Owned Businesses in Colorado and Colorado’s Top 50 Family-Owned Companies each year from 2012 through 2019.

“As Vicki Einhellig and her business partner and Good Day Founder, David Lamb, continue piloting and adding clinical programs to our menu of services, we will continue to demonstrate the value of pharmacy to the healthcare system and how community pharmacists play an integral role in patient health,” said Karen Price, Marketing Director for Good Day. “I am proud to be part of this unique and progressive company.”

Good Day Pharmacy is an independent, family-owned company operating under the Health Mart umbrella and employs more than 150 residents at 11 Colorado locations in Eaton, Fort Collins, Greeley, Johnstown, Longmont, Loveland, Wellington and Yuma.
